Creating a suburban look with Style Sourcebook

Comfort doesn’t have to cost you style or personality, and a whole new generation of homeowners are exploring luxury flooring options and their design possibilities. For this style, functionality is key. The sideboard provides added storage and the art and decor pieces bring the personality and reflect the playfulness you expect at home, while the oversized metallic pendant rounds out this whimsical design.

Livability and functionality are high on the list of wants when creating this look. Carpeted rooms create subtle textural touchpoints and are ideal for high traffic areas and family centered acoustics. Grey as a neutral base paired with bold statement colours, as seen in the chosen art, has never been less boring. Simple and timeless underfoot, carpet makes an incredible foundation to showcase the chosen furniture and decor pieces.

The importance of visualisation prior to purchase is often underrated. Using Style Sourcebook to curate everything from hard finish selections at the build stage, through to furniture and decor, is vital. To ensure the selections compliment or contrast each other correctly, I also engage the ‘RoomView’ function via the Choices Flooring website. I can upload my own photos of the project spaces and trial options until I’m happy.

Start with a foundation piece, like the sofa. I save a mood board with just the sofa, upload it to the ‘RoomView’ application and sub in different carpet and flooring options until I’m happy. When I know what’s best for this style, it’s as simple as dropping the floor selections in on your original Style Sourcebook board and building a story around it.
