Creating a bedroom for a child or teen is a fantastic opportunity to unleash your creativity. Painting the walls a vibrant colour is a great place to start. Be brave because this is relatively easy to change should they outgrow it. A deep green creates an enchanting atmosphere that will no doubt fire up young minds.
Brease carpet, in colour Portland, is a neutral shade that is very forgiving of stains making it a smart choice for kids of all ages. The solutiondyed nylon blend is easy to maintain and can handle lots of rough and tumble from everyday use. Not to mention this carpet is asthma and allergy friendly, so perfect for a little one’s bedroom.
A young child is full of energy so I kept the look simple with a monochromatic scheme. All the furniture pieces are white making them very versatile, and then I added accessories in black and white. If you can stick to this formula, the room should still look good no matter how much mess they make.
The foundation, walls and floors, remain the same for the teen bedroom because it’s quite an edgy combo, but I have introduced bold colour and timber accents to create a welcoming vibe. It’s a contemporary look that will wow their friends and (hopefully) keep their spirits high.
